Parking restrictions return to Lanikai for Veterans Day weekend

Parked cars and beachgoers were seen along Kaelepulu Drive near Lanikai in 2014. The city will restrict parking in Lanikai over the three-day Veterans Day holiday weekend which will be marked with temporary sawhorse-type signs.

The city will restrict parking in Lanikai over the three-day Veterans Day holiday weekend which will be marked with temporary sawhorse-type signs. Parking will not be allowed from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on all Lanikai streets and shoulders tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday.

In addition, the city Department of Transportation Services will also place “No Left Turn” signs at the triangle intersection at S. Kalaheo Avenue and Kailua Road.

Those wishing to access Lanikai beach or the Lanikai Pillboxes Trail over the three-day Veterans Day holiday weekend may walk, bike, take TheBus Route 70 Lanikai, or get dropped off in Lanikai, the city said in a press release.
