Top-seeded Shuai Zhang cruised into the second round of the Hawaii Open on Tuesday, but two other seeds were eliminated on the second day of the WTA 125K Series event at Patsy T. Mink Central Oahu Regional Park.

Zhang, ranked 36th in the world, needed just 47 minutes to score a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Taysia Rogers, a 17-year old wild-card entrant from Texas. Zhang will face Eri Hozumi of Japan today in the last round-of-16 match on Center Court.

Amanada Anisimova, a 16-year-old and reigning U.S. Open girls champion, upset second-seeded Su-Wei Hsieh, 6-0, 6-1 in just 46 minutes. Russia’s Vitalia Diatchenko defeated fifth-seeded Risa Ozaki of Japan 6-1, 6-0.

Seventh-seeded Misaki Doi survived a 2-hour, 40-minute duel with American Asia Muhammad 4-6, 7-6 (7-3), 7-6 (7-3). Sixth-seeded Sachia Vickery defeated fellow American Danielle Collins 6-4, 7-6 (7-2).

In the final singles match of the day, third-seeded Evgeniya Rodina edged fellow Russian and doubles partner Anastasia Pivovarova 6-3, 1-6, 7-6 (7-6).

The round of 16 matches start at 10 a.m. today.
