Bicyclist, 57, dies after Wahiawa crash

A 57-year-old male pedestrian died today after being struck by a truck while crossing a street in Wahiawa.

According to police, the man was crossing Kuahiwi Street outside of a crosswalk around 10:05 a.m. when he was struck by a vehicle turning onto the road from California Avenue.

An Emergency Medical Services report stated that the man was on a bicycle and that he was struck by a truck.

The man was transported in critical condition to a local trauma center, where he later died.

Speed, alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been factors in the incident, according to police.
