I am baffled by the Honolulu Police Department’s hot-pursuit tactics in chasing down dangerous felons (“Suspect arrested in police car theft,” Star-Advertiser, Aug. 29). The chase was mostly on two-lane roads. A chase that went from Kaimuki, past my apartment at 7:08 a.m., to the North Shore, and then stopped. Then they followed the suspect? How could he ditch anything and get away in Waiahole?

I have a brilliant solution that would’ve worked beautifully.

Between the North Shore and Waiahole: Ready? One word: Roadblock.
