Big Island police charge man in Hookena stabbing
Big Island police have charged a 51-year-old Kona man with stabbing a Honaunau man during an argument Tuesday in South Kona.
Mark Knittle, of Hookena, was charged with second-degree assault and released after posting $2,000 bail.
Kona patrol officers responded to the stabbing at 6:47 p.m. along Mamalahoa Highway in Hookena, where a 34-year-old man reported that he had been arguing with a male acquaintance when the man stabbed him. The victim sustained cuts to his chest and arm and was treated at Kona Community Hospital and released.
