UH football to play at Ohio State in 2015

By Stephen Tsai

LAST UPDATED: 11:48 a.m. HST, Oct 09, 2013

An agreement has been reached for the University of Hawaii to play a road game against Ohio State in 2015, according to people familiar with the situation.

UH, Ohio State and ESPN are expected to make a joint announcement tomorrow morning.

The game is scheduled for Sept. 12, 2015, in the campus stadium known as the "Horseshoe."

It will be a busy month of travel for the Rainbow Warriors. They are scheduled to play Wisconsin on Sept. 26, 2015, in Madison, Wisc.

This will be the Rainbow Warriors' first visit to Columbus, Ohio.

UH athletic director Ben Jay is a former Ohio State associate athletic director.

Isn't 2015 the 3rd year of Apples deadline for UHAD to turn around? Will that game come to be known as the "Aloha Bowl"?

Yes it was a one point over, just following HOSSANA's lead. I highly doubt the score will be 43-34.

At this stage, it looks like UH will suffer 2 losses in September 2015 unless Ben Jay and Norm Chow can right the sinking ship. At least the athletic department budget looks like it will be in the black! Let’s hope UH has a 13th game that year to help them get bowl eligible.

UH should aspire to play a tough, competitive schedule. Ideally these games, which will take place at among college football's best venues, Camp Randall and the Horseshoe, will take place without our current head coach.

So, will they be paid for the ESPN broadcast? I mean they should get some compensation for being set up as punching bags. 76 point spread. First, we need to know if this team can beat Kahuku or Punahou ... or Kaimuki. The injuries from these two mainland massacres should set recruitment back four years, when Chow's contract expires.

A job well done! We want UH to play the big boys and Ohio State fits the bill. I, personally like it. The Coaches need to get the team ready and must perform at a higher level. Go Rainbow Warriors!

Heard Chow is trying to break a record. First D1 coach to go 0-12 in back to back seasons and still keep his job. I like how Ben J was on 1420am on Monday morning talking about how UH football is not about wins or losses. He also said wins or losses would not be a determining factor in Chows career at Hawaii. He said its about entertainment. I dunno about everyone else but 0-12 isn't that entertaining.
