Man turns self in after police ‘Most Wanted’ program airs

A 28-year-old man turned himself in to police on Monday after he was featured on “Hawaii Island’s Most Wanted,” a cable television access program, for allegedly robbing a 30-year-old man in Hilo.

Aaron Castro was charged Monday with second-degree robbery, second-degree assault and second-degree theft. Bail was set at $9,000.

Police said a man robbed a man outside an apartment unit on the 400 block of Waianuenue Avenue on May 23.

The victim reported an acquaintance hit him in the face stole his backpack and fled in a vehicle.

Police said Castro was one of three persons being featured on “Hawaii Island’s Most Wanted.” The episode he is featured in began airing June 12.
