Firefighters extinguish early-morning brush fire in Kalama Valley

Honolulu firefighters extinguished a brush fire in Kalama Valley near the Hawaii Kai Golf Course early this morning.

Fire Dept. spokesman Capt. Gary Lum said firefighters were called to the scene of the one-acre fire near Mokuhano Street at about 2 a.m. and extinguished the blaze at 3:37 a.m.

Fire Capt. Terry Seelig said the fire burned away from homes into steep terrain.
