Firefighters aid woman hurt at Maunawili Falls
A woman in her 20s injured her back today after jumping off a cliff into a pool of water at Maunawili Falls.
Firefighters responded after the woman landed awkwardly and hurt her back about 2:20 p.m., said Honolulu Fire Capt. Earle Kealoha.
She could move her legs, but couldn’t walk around.
Firefighters hiked in with a backboard and secured her to the board before a fire helicopter picked her up and took her to paramedics waiting at Maunawili Park.
The woman apparently had non-life threatening injuries, Kealoha said.
