Man who fell or jumped from moving truck identified
The Honolulu Medical Examiner identified the man who died after he jumped or fell from a moving truck in Hauula as David Colleado, 43, of Hauula.
Police said Colleado was riding in a Ford truck driven by a 46-year-old Hauula woman. During an argument, Colleado either jumped or fell from the moving truck at about 9:25 p.m. on Kamehameha Highway near Kaiwaipuna Street.
He was taken to the Queen’s Medical Center with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries and was conscious and combative, police said. He was later downgraded to critical condition and died.
Police said speed and alcohol were not factors for the driver. However, they said the victim had been drinking prior to the fall.
An autopsy is scheduled for today.
