Many attend job fair to explore opportunities at Disney resort

Today’s Job  Quest job fair at the Neal Blaisdell Center drew 5,900 job seekers, with many showing up to find out more about employment opportunities at Walt Disney Co.’s new resort at Ko Olina scheduled to open in August.

The turnout far surpassed the 3,500 job seekers at the last major job fair in September.

More than 2,000 of those in attendance visited the Disney booth, where the company gave a series of 20-minute presentations explaining the hiring process at the resort, called “Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa.” Disney is aiming to hire 800 workers by the time the first phase of the resort opens Aug. 29, and then another 400 in subsequent months.

All job applications must be submitted online at aulani.disneyparks.jobs. Disney said it expects to hire the bulk of the initial workforce in April and May.
