Coming soon (or not) to a UH channel near you

News item: Oceanic Time Warner Cable says it plans to begin a University of Hawaii channel, perhaps as soon as this fall, dedicated to being "all things UH."

Although a UH spokesman said the project "remains in the formative stage," we have learned discussions include offering a lot more than just the school’s athletic events to subscribers.

Maybe even shows like these:

» Dancing with the Stars: Highlights of former athletic director Herman Frazier’s tap dancing appearance before the Legislature in May of 2007 and performances at the Board of Regents.

» Leahey & Leahey: Father Jim and son Kanoa move their popular PBS show across University Avenue to debate the hot UH issues of the day, such as why the school’s athletic teams have four nicknames and whether mice cloned at UH should have kapa designs.
