Senate confirms Lim as state business director

Only three members of Gov. Neil Abercrombie’s Cabinet haven’t yet been confirmed by the Senate following the chamber’s approval today of Richard Lim as director for the Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism.

The Senate unanimously confirmed Lim today. It also confirmed Patricia McManaman as director for the Hawaii Department of Human Services on Monday.

Senators haven’t decided on Abercrombie’s nominations of David Louie as attorney general, Sunshine Topping as director for the Department of Human Resources Development and Loretta Fuddy as director for the Department of Health.

Earlier this week, the Senate confirmed their former colleague, Gary Hooser, as director for the Office of Environmental Quality Control and former Rep. Hermina Morita as chairwoman for the Public Utilities Commission. Their positions aren’t Cabinet-level posts.
