Hiker falls 50 feet, suffers possible fractures to neck, ribs, wrist
A female hiker who fell 50 feet from a trail in Maunawili today possibly fractured her neck, ribs and wrist and suffered “multiple scrapes and bruises,” Honolulu Fire Capt. Earle Kealoha said.
The woman was conscious and alert when a fellow hiker got to her, Kealoha said.
The fire department’s Air 1 helicopter retrieved the woman at 1:07 p.m. and flew her to Maunawili Neighborhood Park, where she was taken to a hospital by paramedics, Kealoha said.
