Medical examiner says Steinhoff died of head injuries
Hawaii Pacific University basketball player Kameron Steinhoff died of head injuries sustained when the skateboard he was riding struck a parked car earlier this week, the city Medical Examiner’s Office said.
The incident happened in Kaneohe on Monday night. Steinhoff died Tuesday night.
Tests registered no drugs or alcohol in his system, the Medical Examiner’s Office said.
Steinhoff, who turned 21 last month, was a redshirt sophomore this past year with the Sea Warriors.
As a senior at Punahou in 2008, Steinhoff was a consensus state player of the year and led the Buffanblu to a state championship.
