Honolulu police say a domestic dispute between a 17-year-old girl and a 26-year-old woman ended with the arrest of the teenager on suspicion of kidnapping and felony abuse.

Police say the two women are involved in a romantic relationship and argued Wednesday afternoon. The teenager held the older woman against her will in the bedroom of their Waimanalo home and allegedly tried to strangle the victim with a belt causing her to lose consciousness, police said.

Another resident of the home broke up the confrontation and called police.

The victim suffered minor injuries and was treated and released at a local hospital, police said.
