» City spokeswoman Louise Kim McCoy, speaking about how the site of a proposed park is being used instead as a staging area for public works projects, said, "The city recently apologized to the Waikiki Neighborhood Board for the inconvenience and explained that without this site, these projects would have been very difficult to execute." Part of her quote was cut off in a Page B5 article Thursday.
» An error in production obscured some text in the Pau Hana Patrol feature about Sports Fanaddicts Bar & Grill in Kakaako on Page 23 of TGIF today. Two sections were affected.
The first should read, "A virtual groan could be heard among my Web-connected friends, many of whom recalled spending a Thursday evening watching pickup hula performances at a bar that also brought in some pretty big names in Hawaiian music on their own days off. So when I drove by last month and noticed new signage and an open door, I knew it was time to check things out. And that’s where it gets interesting."
The second should read, "When revenue doesn’t meet projections, however, future expenditures are reconsidered; in other words, the money runs out. And so does the buzz.
"On the other hand, the bar that opens with a ‘slow burn’ — not much fanfare, continuing structural and menu improvements, constant re-evaluation of the business — tends to last a bit longer."
