A 34-year-old Pearl City man is being held on $200,000 bail after being charged with first-degree assault in connection with the stabbing of a 29-year-old man during a fight in Kailua.

Police said Richard A. Duenas got into a fight with the younger man outside a Kailua bar about 1:35 a.m. July 23. He allegedly stabbed the man in the back and ran away. The victim went to the hospital in stable condition and later identified Duenas to detectives.

Undercover officers arrested Duenas on Thursday afternoon in Aiea and charged him Friday.
