Man recovers stolen car after spotting it on Craigslist

Police arrested a 33-year-old man Sunday after he unwittingly attempted to sell a stolen car to its owner.

According to police, the owner of the car, a 22-year-old man, saw an advertisement for his stolen vehicle on Craigslist and contacted the poster, who was unaware with whom he was communicating, to arrange a meeting.

The owner of the car then contacted the police, who accompanied him to the agreed-upon meeting place in Iwilei. The suspect was arrested when drove into the parking lot in the stolen car.

He faces one count of unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle.
