Honolulu police major charged with meth possession
Honolulu Police Department Maj. Carlton Nishimura, who is awaiting trial on federal charges of extortion, lying to investigators and witness tampering, was arrested in an FBI raid of his home Monday for drug possession.
Nishimura, 55, appeared in U.S. District Court this afternoon on a charge of possessing with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine.
The FBI says it found about 231.5 grams, or more than a half pound, of the drug in Nishimura’s Waianae home.
