Motorcyclist, 47, dies in crash
A 47-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash Wednesday afternoon in the Salt Lake area.
Police dispatch reported that a fatal crash involving a motorcycle and another vehicle occurred at 5:15 p.m. at Bougainville Drive and Lawehana Street.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, an Emergency Medical Services supervisor said.
Mo-ped rider critically injured
A 51-year-old man was in critical condition Wednesday after crashing his mo-ped on Oneawa Street in Kailua.
The man was driving south on Oneawa near Kipuka Place about 9:55 a.m. when he lost control and hit the pavement, injuring his head, police said.
The man was taken in critical condition to the Queen’s Medical Center. He was not wearing a helmet.
Tourists robbed in hotel room
Police are asking for the public’s help finding a suspect in the armed robbery of three Canadian tourists in their Waikiki hotel room Monday afternoon.
Two women, ages 61 and 30, and a man, 39, said they were in their room at the Imperial Hawaii Resort on Lewers Street when an unknown man forced his way into their room, police said. The man had a handgun and took several items before fleeing, police said.
The suspect is identified as in his 40s, between 5-feet-9 and 5-feet-10, and between 120 and 140 pounds with a slim build.
