Fresno’s late rally stuns Hawaii
Fresno State scored four runs in the top of the eighth inning to come from behind and defeat Hawaii 5-3 on Friday night at Les Murakami Stadium.
Aaron Judge brought home the tying run with an RBI single and consecutive RBI groundouts put the Bulldogs (15-15, 1-1 Western Athletic Conference) in the lead for good.
Pi’ikea Kitamura doubled twice and drove in two runs for Hawaii (18-13, 1-1) which saw its four-game winning streak come to an end.
Jarrett Arakawa (3-3) was credited with the loss, tying a season-high eight strikeouts in seven innings with no walks.
Justin Haley (4-2) picked up the win and Taylor Garrison got Kitamura to strike out looking to end the game and earn his seventh save.
The series will conclude with a day game on Satuday at 1:05.
