Sketch shows suspect in kidnapping attempts
CrimeStoppers released Thursday a sketch of a suspect in attempted kidnappings of girls in Makiki and Moiliili.
The man, who rides a red-and-white mo-ped, grabbed a 13-year-old girl Dec. 25 in Makiki, but she got away, police said. On Tuesday he pushed a 12-year-old girl to the ground in Moiliili and tried to force her to swallow a pill, but he fled on the mo-ped when a neighbor yelled at him.
The suspect is described as in his 50s, between 5 feet 4 and 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a heavy build, gray and wavy neck-length hair and brown eyes. He was riding an older model mo-ped that has scratches, police said.

Honokaa man ID’d as fatality
Hawaii County police have identified the motorcyclist who was fatally injured Wednesday in a collision with a car as Brocky A. Rapozo, 31, of Honokaa.
The car driver and the motorcyclist were heading north when the motorcycle rear-ended the sedan and sideswiped the car slightly, police said. The motorcyclist lost control and hit a guardrail. The motorcyclist was thrown and landed on the side of the road, police said.
The accident happened at about 11:25 a.m. on Highway 190, near the 14-mile marker in Puuanahulu.
Police officers investigating the accident closed Highway 190 between Waikoloa Road and Kaiminani Drive. The highway was reopened at about 3 p.m.
