Country icon Campbell plans show in Honolulu
Country music legend Glen Campbell will bring his worldwide "Goodbye Tour" to Honolulu for a single show, 7:30 p.m. Sept. 2 at the Blaisdell Concert Hall.
The 76-year-old, a multiple Grammy Award winner, is battling Alzheimer’s disease and went public with the diagnosis last year. On Wednesday, he canceled appearances in Australia and New Zealand with Kenny Rogers, who will still play with Aussie country artists as special guests. A spokeswoman said Campbell is not up for "the very long flight that it (the concerts) would require."
Tickets for the Honolulu concert are $55 and $65 and will go on sale at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Blaisdell Box Office and at Ticketmaster outlets, including Walmart. Tickets may be ordered online at ticketmaster.com or by phone at 800-745-3000.
Campbell’s hits include "Gentle on My Mind," "By the Time I Get to Phoenix," "Wichita Lineman," "Galveston," "Southern Nights" and "Rhinestone Cowboy."
