EXPERIMENTING WITH SCENTS AT OILS OF ALOHA | 4. Anthony Gambino and Norma Kamai tried their hand at mixing uniquely scented spa products at the Oils of Aloha factory open house July 13 in Kunia. The company hosted the midday luncheon and factory tour to introduce new items in its line of beauty aids and cooking products made from macadamia nut and kukui nut oils.

ALL HATS ON DECK FOR TANOUE AT PEARL | 3. The dress code specified that all guests wear hats when celebrity photographer Russell Tanoue, center, celebrated his birthday with "Hat Party," a charity fundraiser July 14 at Pearl. Featured entertainers Gavin Vinta, Kristian Lei, Yvette Umi and Tioni Tam Swayne congratulated Tanoue outside the club. About half the people in the wall-to-wall crowd inside wore headwear, sporting everything from contemporary fedoras to top hats and viking helmets.
