Education experiment gets uneven outcome

The state Department of Education announced at a news conference Friday that it will buy two science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) carts for Hawaii island with a $50,000 donation from AT&T. The carts allow students to conduct experiments that would be too hazardous or costly in a traditional laboratory setting.
