A 51-year-old inmate was arrested Tuesday for allegedly sexually assaulting a man at Halawa Correctional Facility.
Police said the 31-year-old man reported that he was sexually assaulted by the male inmate about 6:45 a.m. July 1.
Police arrested the alleged assailant at the prison at 12:05 p.m. today for investigation of first- and third-degree sexual assault. He was released, pending charges.
The alleged assailant is being held at the facility for theft and other convictions.
