QUESTION: The city is changing TheBus Routes 14 and 22, and the changes take effect Sunday. But when I called TheBus, they had no idea what the bus schedule will be. They just told us to call back after the changes take place. People need to make plans at least a couple of days in advance, so we need to have a schedule before any changes are made. Can you help?
QUESTION: I need to plan to get to work and the beach, etc. But they don’t have the schedules out for bus Routes 19, 13, 14 and other buses they’ve cut. They’re not giving any information. When are they going to have the schedules out?
ANSWER: The Oahu Transit Services website, www.thebus.org, has been updated to show all of the changes, said OTS spokeswoman Michelle Kennedy.
“Our Information and Customer Service call centers have been giving information about the new service as of our opening Monday morning at 5:30 a.m.,” she said.

MAHALO
To the amazing young lady who recognized that our elderly father needed help after he boarded a bus at Ala Moana Center last month. She accompanied him all the way to Aiea Heights Drive, to the bus stop closest to his home. She went out of her way to make sure he made it safely home. The bus company informed us that the trip involved transferring buses. We know that our father definitely would not know how to do this on his own. Frightfully, he could have ended up anywhere. She must have alerted her father, who was waiting for her at the Aiea bus stop. We believe they intended to make sure our father was walked safely home and that she would have a ride home from there. My niece had been driving around Aiea looking for our father and, in a fortunate coincidence, saw them exit the bus. Unfortunately, in the frantic state we were all in, we did not get the young woman’s name. Our entire family will always be so grateful to her, our guardian angel, for her compassion and extraordinary efforts. May she and her family be blessed many times over for the kindness and patience shown. — Earl’s family
