Line for plus-size petites debuts
Designer Lynn Sakutori aimed to make her mark as a petite designer, and perhaps she succeeded too well. Since her Sakutori line’s debut at Nordstrom earlier this year, the store has been inundated with requests from larger women.
So Sakutori is obliging with the launching of her plus-size line focusing on Hawaii women who average about 5-foot-4 in height and require sizes 1X to 3X.
Meet the designer during her launch in Nordstrom’s Encore department from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
Like the petite line, the new styles are contemporary, comprising easy-care fabrics suitable for warm weather that make excellent basics to complement or expand an existing wardrobe. Her first grouping includes two different top and bottom styles, with each piece selling for less than $80.
