An 800-square-foot pile of trash went up in flames Friday evening on Maui.

Maui firefighters responded to a possible structure fire in Keanae Town at 6:52 p.m. Friday.

Three responding units discovered a rubbish pile and brush on fire, a fire official said.

No structures were threatened.

The fire was brought under control quickly at 7:42 p.m. and extinguished at 8:10 p.m.

No one was injured and no property was damaged.
