Crawls take diners to restaurants
As if we don’t already have enough food events in Honolulu, there’s one more, and it’s popular before it’s even begun. The event is called Dishcrawl, a dining tour of sorts that takes participants to four restaurants in one evening.
The first, set for Nov. 7, is sold out, but seats are being sold for a Dec. 12 outing (see www.dishcrawl.com/ oahu). Participants don’t know which restaurants they will be touring until 48 hours before the event, and that’s part of the adventure.
Dishcrawl was started 2 1/2 years ago in Silicon Valley by Tracy Lee, who organized Dishcrawl events for herself and friends before realizing other folks might enjoy the same type of outing. Today, Dishcrawl is in full swing in cities across the U.S. and in Canada.
The Dec. 12 event starts at 7 p.m.; cost is $39. Look for more events throughout 2013. See www.dishcrawl.com/oahu, "like" Dishcrawl on Facebook or follow it on Twitter (@dishcrawlhnl).
