Man is critically injured in 2-car crash
A man in his 30s was taken to the hospital in critical condition following a crash Friday afternoon in front of the Kaiser Medical Center in Moanalua.
The two-car crash occurred at about 4:30 p.m., the city Department of Emergency Services said. Moanalua Road was closed between Ala Aolani and Ala Kapuna streets as officers investigated. The road was reopened about three hours later.
A second person in the crash refused treatment.
Alleged robber tries to escape after arrest
A 19-year-old Waipahu man faces criminal charges after he allegedly assaulted a man during a robbery attempt at a Kapolei area store Thursday.
Police said the suspect tried to escape while receiving medical attention at the Waianae Comprehensive Health Center just after 2 p.m. He was found still wearing handcuffs.
Officers arrested him on suspicion of second-degree robbery, fourth-degree theft and escape.
2 suspects are sought in Waipahu holdup
Police are looking for two men who allegedly robbed a Waipahu restaurant Wednesday night. The suspects, one of them armed with a handgun, entered the restaurant at 9:50 p.m. and demanded money from the safe.
Visitor rescued after trouble in water
A 29-year-old visitor from Santa Cruz, Calif., apparently suffering a seizure while boogie-boarding at Kealia Beach, was pulled from the water at about 9:55 a.m. Thursday by Kauai County rescue personnel.
The lifeguards brought the visitor to shore and performed CPR, which restored his breathing. Paramedics transported the visitor by ambulance to Wilcox Hospital, where he is now in the intensive care unit.

Hiker rescued after reporting dehydration
A 55-year-old man had to be airlifted off the Waihee Valley ridge trail Friday morning by the Maui County Fire Department helicopter after he ran out of water and reported that he was dehydrated.
The hiker called 911 on Maui at 5 a.m. saying that he had been hiking for two days and needed help to get out of the area. Maui fire officials said the hiker was not injured and refused medical attention after he was airlifted out at 6:40 a.m.
