Motorcyclist dies after crashing into H-3 guardrail
The medical examiner’s office will perform an autopsy on the body of a 23-year-old man who was killed Sunday when the motorcycle he was driving slammed into a guardrail on the H-3 freeway.
Police said the accident occurred at 12:05 p.m. about 800 yards east of the Kamehameha Highway overpass.
A witness said the victim, driving a 2011 Suzuki motorcycle, was speeding with a second motorcycle when he lost control and hit the guardrail. The second motorcyclist did not stop to render aid, police said. Both motorcyclists were heading east on the freeway.
Police closed all east bound lanes of the H3 for about three hours.
This was Oahu’s 24th traffic death, compared to 21 at the same time a year ago.
