The power of 1 can be felt by many
If you’ve ever doubted the power of one, consider Yasiel Puig, one of the newest players in Major League Baseball, who started with the Los Angeles Dodgers just this past Monday.
In just his first four games, the 22-year-old Cuban defector hit three home runs, including a grand slam, accounting for nine runs and injecting a level of excitement into the slumping Dodgers that the team hasn’t seen since late last season. Dodgers fans are hoping this one player’s presence will energize the whole team, which with its new owners now has one of the largest payrolls of any MLB organization and lots on the line, financially.
The team, which includes St. Louis School graduate Brandon League as relief pitcher, certainly has been all-smiles this week, at least.
