Hawaii Kai man charged in alleged threats with samurai swords

Police and prosecutors charged a 27-year-old Hawaii Kai man  after he allegedly threatened a couple with two samurai swords.

James Kaumeheiwa is charged with two counts of terroristic threatening. His bail was set at $30,000.

Police said the incident started with argument between the suspect and a 55-year-old man at 11:13 a.m. Wednesday at a Hawaii Kai home. During the confrontation the suspect threatened both the man and a 73-year-old woman with two samurai swords, police said. Officers arrested him Wednesday in Hawaii Kai.
