Man charged in credit card theft
Hawaii County police Friday charged a 28-year-old Captain Cook man with 37 offenses stemming from unauthorized purchases made on a Keauhou company charge card in Kailua-Kona.
Travis Lee Charbonneau was charged with one count of theft of a credit card, eight counts of second-degree theft, 11 counts of third-degree theft, six counts of fourth-degree theft, nine counts of fraudulent use of a credit card, one count of second-degree identify theft and one count of third-degree identity theft.
On June 3 police received a report from a business owner that the company charge card was used to make several unauthorized charges at a store in Kailua-Kona.
Charbonneau is being held at the Kealakehe police cellblock in lieu of $57,000 bail pending his initial court appearance Monday.
