COURTESY NATURE CONSERVANCY
Alaska Airlines, which flies 22 percent of its routes to Hawaii, is partnering with The Nature Conservancy of Hawaii to restore near-shore coral reefs. The airline said it will donate $1 to the conservancy for every download of its mobile application in August. The minimum contribution will be $30,000. The money will go toward the conservancy’s reef restoration work in Kaneohe Bay, where staffers Brian Neilson and Tristan Walker use a Super Sucker to clear algae from the reef.
