Three injured after car plows into Hawaii Kai post office

A car drove into the Hawaii Kai post office this morning, injuring three people.

Three people were injured when a car ran into the Hawaii Kai post office this morning.

The female 77-year-old driver was taken to the hospital in serious condition. Also injured were two post office patrons — both women, ages 27 and 19. They also were taken by paramedics to the hospital in serious condition.

Police and Emergency Medical Services paramedics were summoned to 7040 Hawaii Kai Dr. just after 11 a.m.

The late model sedan drove through the glass wall and ended up lodged against the mailboxes in the lobby.

Cause of the accident is under investigation.
