No tsunami danger to state from strong quake off Panama
A strong quake struck south of Panama at 5:43 a.m., but poses no tsunami threat to the state, according to officials at the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.
The preliminary magnitude-6.7 temblor struck 233 miles south-southeast of Panama at a depth of about 2.5 miles, according to officials at the U.S. Geological Survey.
No injuries were immediately reported.
