Gas leak on UH Manoa campus contained

A gas leak at the University of Hawaii at Manoa Campus Center was temporarily contained at 2:30 p.m. Monday.

A campus alert was issued at 1:40 p.m. that the gas line leak occurred at the Campus Center construction site. The firefighters and gas company were on the scene.

University officials warn people to stay away from the area between Kuykendall Hall and Campus Center, and the area has been cordoned off.

Permanent repairs are scheduled for Monday night, a campus alert said.
