CrimeStoppers: Suspect sought in University Avenue sex-assault case

Honolulu police released a sketch of a sex assault suspect.

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a man who wanted in connection with a reported sexual assault incident.

Early Thursday morning, the victim was asleep at her residence on University Avenue when she was awakened at about 3:55 a.m. by an unknown male who entered her residence through a screen door. The male sexually assaulted the victim and fled when she called the police.

A news release issued by CrimeStoppers describes the suspect as a bald African-American man in his 30s, standing about 5 feet 8 inches and weighing 180 pounds. The suspect was wearing blue shorts.
