Chan Kim, the 2006 Hawaii state high school champion, finished second at the Yeangder Tournament Players Championship, which ended Sept. 15 in Taipei.
Kim closed with a 2-under-par 70 to finish one shot back of Thailand’s Thaworn Wiratchant, who won a record 16th Asian Tour title.
Kim had a 72-hole score of 276. He collected $55,000 to move up to 33rd on the Order of Merit. He has won $62,703 in seven starts.
Maui’s Sam Cyr was 27th in Taipei at 74—289. He won $4,270 and is 77th on the money list, with $21,271 in eight starts.
