The Hawaii International Film Festival that begins Oct. 10 continues to mature in its 33rd year with quality films from around the globe. There are eight feature films in the Spotlight on Korea section this year sponsored by KBFD. They are "Boomerang Family," "Cold Eyes," "How to Use Guys with Secret Tips," "Intruders," "Juvenile Offender," "Mr. Go," "The Stone" and "Very Ordinary Couple." My top picks are "Cold Eyes," which will surely sell out quickly, and "Mr. Go," which is a good choice for a family outing. Tickets are on sale at www.hiff.org or call 447-0577.

"Wonderful Mama"
Episodes 35 and 36
Today, 6:30 p.m.: Un-ok tries to strike a deal with Bok-hee that Young-chae will leave Hoon-nam in exchange for information about Min-soo, but Bok-hee refuses. She leaves with the promise that she will find out about Min-soo another way. Young-chae is worried about where she and Hoon-nam will live after they get married. She tries to get her mother’s help, but Hoon-nam has other plans. Bok-hee feels more at peace once she gets to know Hoon-nam better and makes him promise to take her of her children after she is gone.
Today, 7:45 p.m.: Hoon-nam feels bad that he can’t give Young-chae a nice place to live so he promises her that he will make a lot of money so that he can buy her a nice place in the future. Hoon-nam’s family is confused as to whether Young-chae’s family is really bankrupt. Bok-hee and Beom-suh are told by Min-soo’s adoptive father that Min-soo died in the factory fire, but Bok-hee puts two and two together when she sees Dr. Hong and Hong Ihn-ki together.

Monday, 7:45 p.m.: Seo-yoon finds out Tae-joo is trying to hold a Sungjin Cement shareholders’ meeting behind her back and stops it. Sung-hee is shocked by Sung-jae’s arrest. Min-jae gets suspicious about Sung-hee’s health.
Tuesday, 7:45 p.m.: Min-jae joins forces with Seo-yoon to stop Tae-joo from becoming the chairman. Won-jae is worried he’ll lose his hard-earned chairman position. Seo-yoon and Min-jae prepare for their battle over the Daehan Bank takeover that will decide the fate of Sungjin Group.

Episodes 5 and 6
Wednesday, 7:45 p.m.: Joong-won hires Gong-shil as a VIP customer specialist to keep her close to him. Gong-shil is summoned to a wealthy businesswoman’s house and is locked up in her dead grandson’s room for a spiritual marriage.
Thursday, 7:45 p.m.: Gong-shil mistakes Kang-woo’s interest in her as romantic. A stray dog is seen in Kingdom Shopping Mall. Gong-shil goes in search of the dog to help Kang-woo, but finds out it’s not a dog, but the ghost of a dog.

Episodes 19 and 20
Friday, 7:45 p.m.: Hyun-woo and Ji-hye hide their true feelings and pretend to be happy at their chance meeting. Hye-jung is excited about her promotion but her excitement doesn’t last as her mother’s situation worsens.
Saturday, 7:45 p.m: Jung-sook is not happy about Tae-wook and Ji-hye going to America. She tells Tae-wook to go by himself and leave Ji-hye behind. Eun-hee becomes an accounting manager at Jin-hee’s company. She re-enrolls in the English Academy, where she finds Pil-ho, her old conversational partner.
