Board of Water Supply crews finished repairs by 2:30 a.m. on a 16-inch main damaged by a contractor at the Moanalua Golf Course that left about 600 customers without water Thursday afternoon and evening, a board spokesman said.

Earlier in the evening, crews created a bypass to resore water service, at lower than normal pressure, to most customers at about 10:30 p.m. Thursday.

Service to Kaiser Permanente Moanalua Medical Center and Clinic was restored about 3 p.m., two hours after the main break, said water supply spokesman Dymian Racoma.

The break was reported by a contractor doing excavating at about 1 p.m., Racoma said.

“We immediately went to the hospital to start doing a bypass to get the water service back on,” Racoma said.
