A baby hippo, foreground, that was born Oct. 3 at the Gulf Breeze Zoo in Gulf Breeze, Fla., stayed close to its mother Wednesday. Baby hippos are born in the water and will nurse underwater, and they surface every two to three minutes for air. Mother and baby remain on exhibit for visitors, although they might be submerged.
