Forecasters said tradewinds should return tonight, but another weather system coming in from the north will also bring heavy rain to Kauai and Oahu Saturday night.

Forecasters expect a wet weekend, with strong trades blowing rain to leeward and interior sections in addition to the usual windward and mauka showers.

The forecast for Honolulu calls for a 50 percent chance of rain through Saturday and a 90 percent chance of rain Saturday night.

Rain could continue through the Veteran’s Day holiday Monday.

Another weather system to the north may bring more rain later next week, forecasters say.
