Toddler who died after struck by pickup driven by father ID’d

The Medical Examiner’s office has identified the 2-year-old girl, who was killed Tuesday after being struck by a pickup truck driven by her father, as Leyan Jarra.

The incident in a parking lot at Rainbow Beauty Supply at 650 Kohou St. happened close to 5:04 p.m. Tuesday when the father was picking up his wife and daughter and the girl ran in front of the vehicle, police said.

The girl was taken in critical condition by her parents to the Queen’s Medical Center, where she died, authorities said.
