Event touts isle brands for consumers in Japan

Hawaii Tourism Japan, JTB and Hawaiian May will present the second annual Hawaiian May! 2014 event from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel.

The event, which features a fashion show, was created to promote new Hawaii fashion brands in Japan. Tickets are available only to travelers from Japan, but the show, featuring top Japanese models including Jessica Michibata, Hinano Yoshikawa, Hana Imai, Mie and more, will be visible from an outdoor runway stage at the hotel’s Ocean Lawn for folks who want a view from the beach.

Participating Hawaii brands are Aloha ‘Aina Boutique, Angels by the Sea Hawaii, Fighting Eel, MB by Matt Bruening, MUSE by RIMO, Mu‘umu‘u Heaven, Issa de’ mar, Pualani, San Lorenzo and 88 tees.

The Japanese pop group E-girls will perform.
