After debuting with pricing that was labeled a bit too rich, some discounting has been instituted for the High Roller observation wheel on the Strip. It’s still $34.95 for adults to ride at night (after 6 p.m.), but it’s now $5 less at $19.95 for daytime rides. A new price level for ages 13-17 is $14.95 during the day and $24.95 at night (children 12 and under are free).

More economical for many will be the "Family Pack," which includes tickets for two adults and two children for $49.95 during the day and $79.95 at night. This package saves up to $40 on the nighttime ride. The Family Pack is the least expensive play for a family of four if at least one child is over 12, but if neither is, buying two single adult tickets with the kids riding free is better. The new prices are being called "summertime rates" and will be in place at least until Sept. 1.

Dunham comin’: Ventriloquist Jeff Dunham will become a regular at Planet Hollywood beginning Nov. 28. Dunham’s show will play in the 1,400-seat theater that hosted Peep show, with dates scheduled through May 31. Ticket prices have not been announced.

Drones: Marquee Dayclub at the Cosmopolitan is offering drone bottle service by the pool. For $20,000, flying drones will deliver Champagne to your cabana and snap photos of you and your friends.

QUESTION: Can you tell us the particulars on July Fourth fireworks?

ANSWER: At 9 p.m., fireworks displays will fire from Green Valley Ranch on the east side, Red Rock on the west and Caesars Palace. Then at 9:30 The Linq will have a display (rides on the High Roller will be $49.95 from 8:30 to 9:30 and include a drink). Other smaller displays are also planned throughout the valley.
