Dive into Keiki Carnival, after-dark fun at water park
For the last blast of the summer, Wet’n’Wild Hawaii is hosting its fourth annual Keiki Carnival on Aug. 16.
The carnival activities run from 4 to 6 p.m., featuring free games, entertainment by talented kid bands, jugglers and clowns, face painting and balloon animals.
The park will stay open until 9 p.m. with its Twilight Event, geared toward tweens and teens, offering adrenaline-rush rides after dark.
The Shaka plunges guests down a nearly vertical, 36-foot drop into a U slide for a zero-gravity experience. The Tornado, meanwhile, catapults guests through a swirling 45-foot funnel before ending in calmer waters.
The water park will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., with discounted admission pricing of $19.99 after 4 p.m. OKC and MyTV cardholders can get $19.99 admission all day when they show their card.

Fitness event will help grant wishes to kids
Join OnTrack Fitness for family fun from 9 to 11 a.m. Aug. 16 at Magic Island, to benefit Make-A-Wish Hawaii.
OnTrack Fitness will offer activities like keiki jump rope sessions, hula hoop contests and tug of war. The kids are also invited to participate in obstacle courses, a crab-crawl race and relay races.
There will even be a special parachute activity for toddlers, age 4 and under.
The costumed Mermaid Kariel will make an appearance in her clamshell from 9 to 10:30 a.m. to read from her new book, "The Brave Mermaid."
Admission to the event is free, but donations are welcome and will benefit Make-A-Wish Hawaii, a nonprofit group that grants the wishes of children diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions.
OnTrack Fitness owner Emily Collins says the event is a way for her company, which provides fitness training sessions, to give back to the community while encouraging families to stay active.
Make-A-Wish Hawaii spokeswoman Jenna Wawrzyniec said the group is in its busiest year of wish granting in 32 years because of greater outreach efforts.
"Every little bit helps as we work to grant a record number of wishes for eligible kids in need of the hope, strength and joy that wish experience brings," she said.
